Fernando Pimenta: "Keep a positive attitude and stay at home"

In the interview he gave to BTV by video call, the canoeist approached a scenario that is now a certainty: the postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games to 2021.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Olympic Committee and the Japanese government decided on Tuesday to postpone the Tokyo Olympics to 2021.

"We spent a lot of time away, preparing for the Olympic Games, and we feel that, in a way, our work went down the drain. We understand and we are the first to support the measure", he mentioned.

"Sadly, the world is going through a very bad patch. I think the Portuguese people are behaving well compared to other countries, but we have to keep a positive attitude and stay at home. I, who do almost 100 percent outdoor sport, try to stay home as much as possible", he stressed.
