Pablo Pichardo, an athlete from Sport Lisboa e Benfica, jumped 17,40 meters and won the triple jump event of the Inspiration Games, an innovative Diamond League format, with simultaneous events in seven cities around the world.

The red athlete, n.º 3 of the world ranking, showed greater consistency in his jumps and defeated the renowned Christian Taylor (world n.º 1 ) and Omar Craddock (n.º 5).

COP distinguishes Benfica athletes

Benfica athletes Telma Monteiro and Pedro Pichardo were honored by the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP) on Thursday, November 14, at the 2024 Olympic Celebration, a gala held at SUD Hall Lisbon. Judoka Telma Monteiro was awarded the Prestige Award, which honors “sports agents for the excellence, notability and prestige of their careers”. Pedro Pichardo, triple jump athlete and Paris 2024 silver medalist, received the Sports Excellence Award, which is given to “Olympic medalists, World or European Champions”. Domingos Almeida Lima, Benfica's vice-president, represented the club at the ceremony.
