Pedro Pablo Pichardo won the gold medal in the triple jump at the 2021 European Indoor, in Torun (Poland). 

"Benfica were the one who gave me the opportunity to come to Portugal and they have believed in me since the first moment I arrived here. I hope to continue giving joy to the Benfiquistas... May they all be happy with this result and with the others that are yet to come", mentioned Pichardo.

After the gold medal at the European Indoor Championships, Pedro Pablo Pichardo already has his eyes set on the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games: "In my mind is always the best result, which is gold, and that is what I train for every day."

Vertonghen "very happy" for the 50 matches with an eagle on his chest

Jan Vertonghen was a starter in the center of Benfica's defense in the game from matchday 6 of the Liga Bwin against Boavista at Estádio da Luz on September 20 and he reached a milestone in his career with the Sacred Mantle. "I am very happy for the 50 matches with an eagle on my chest!", share the Belgian international in Portuguese.


Diogo Gonçalves makes 50 appearances in the first team

Diogo Gonçalves featured in Benfica's starting eleven against Boavista, in a match held at Estádio da Luz, for matchday 6 of the Liga Bwin. In a game in which he reached 50 matches for the eagles first team, he provided the assist  for Darwin's goal, which opened the scoring in the 3-1 triumph. "I am very happy to have completed 50 games for Benfica's first team. May 50 more come, together with all of you! Thanks for the support", shared the defender, addressing the Benfiquistas.
