The temporary exhibition "Luisão – Dias de Luta, Dias de Glória" (days of struggle, days of glory) was launched, this Friday, at Museum Benfica – Cosme Damião. A tribute to Luisão, former player and current technical director of Professional Football.
"I usually say that Luisão is my travel companion. We’re together since 2003 and this is a journey of great happiness. We’re in front of the big Benfica captain, with 538 matches. He’s one of the players with the most matches at the club and has 20 titles. Everything that is done for Luisão is well deserved", considered Luís Filipe Vieira.
"My story, everything here is based on my family foundations. My parents, my wife, Brenda, my older daughter Sofia and Valentina. And on the Benfiquista family, which supported me all those years. I must thank the President Luís Filipe Vieira, who also supported me over the last 17 years. On behalf of my entire family, I thank you for being here today, making a dream reality", said the former red captain.
Among the 25 guests were Domingos Soares de Oliveira, CEO of Group Benfica, Rui Costa, SAD administrator, the vice-presidents Domingos Almeida Lima, Varandas Fernandes and Alcino António and the former players and glories Júlio César, Valdo and Shéu Han.
The exhibition is temporary and free and will be at Museum Benfica – Cosme Damião for an indefinite period, from Saturday, September 5.
