Welcome, Otamendi!

PRESENTATION

Nicolás Otamendi is the new signing of Sport Lisboa e Benfica until 2023 and was introduced, this Tuesday night, at Benfica Campus. The Argentinian international, who will wear the No 30 jersey, has a 30 million release clause. 

What is your feeling on joining Sport Lisboa e Benfica? What can you bring to the team?

I want to thank the President, Rui Costa and Tiago Pinto for taking care of my return to Portugal. I bring some experience and I’ll try to do things the best way I can. I hope Benfica to keep growing. I’m here to help my teammates so that the team can perform well during the season.

What is your opinion about Benfica’s coach, Jorge Jesus?

He’s a winner, he proved it all these years and we hope to put Benfica on top this season.

How do you expect to be welcomed by the fan base?

I think the Benfica fans will welcome me the best way possible. I’ll give me best and the fans will give me the credit. I’ll give everything on the pitch for the team and for the fans to be happy.
