With an excellent header, Samaris valued Benfica's set piece in the first half of the away match at Paredes and scored the solitary goal, sealing the win and the qualification for the 4th round of the Portuguese Cup.

"It was a game divided in terms of Benfica's performance. In the first half, we created more goal chances than in the second half. We could and should have scored more goals, but we know that the Portuguese Cup is always a complicated competition, where it's common to play against teams that are always very motivated by the fact that they face Benfica. But we should have scored more goals", claimed Samaris in the flash interview.
