Benfica Vitória Guimarães 2020/21 League Cup

Decision time! The intense cycle continues and on Wednesday at 9 pm at the Cathedral, another competitive window opens. Benfica and V. Guimarães face each other in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

The two teams are going through different moments. The eagles are fighting in all fronts (Europa League, Liga NOS, Portuguese Cup, League Cup and Super Cup), while V. Guimarães is only playing for the Liga NOS and League Cup.

Regarding the clashes between the two emblems, and considering all competitions, SL Benfica and Vitória de Guimarães already face each other on 176 occasions, with the reds having the upper hand: 124 triumphs, 27 draw and 25 losses, racking up 403 goals scored and 145 conceded.

The League Cup final four, that will decide the winner of this edition of the competition, will take place between January 16 and 23, 2021, at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria.

With seven wins, Sport Lisboa e Benfica is the club with the most League Cups on its list of honors, having lifted the trophy in 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16.
