Benfica already knows the opponent in the League Cup semi-finals

Benfica will face SC Braga, in a game from the semi-finals of the League Cup, so dictated the draw held this Monday at the headquarters of the Portuguese Professional Football League.

According to the draw, Benfica will play against SC Braga, as visitor, in the semi-final 2, scheduled for January 20. In the first semi-final, Sporting and FC Porto will lock horns on the previous day, January 19.

The final will be played on January 23. 

Sport Lisboa e Benfica, with seven wins, is the club with the most League Cup in their list of honors. They lifted the trophy in 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16.

Luisão was the representative of Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the draw.

"I wish that the four teams are at the level of the growth of the League Cup and the work that the Liga Portugal has been doing to provide a good show to the people who unfortunately in our day to day cannot be present, who are the supporters. The expectation is always the best. The first thought will be in the semi-final, and then, with a victory, go to the next stage to win the League Cup. Benfica always steps onto the pitch to do the best and try to win", he claimed.
