To reach the final of the competition, the eagles beat Clube Albergaria (0-2) in the quarter-final and FC Famalicão (0-3) in the semi-final. Sporting beat (1-4) and SC Braga (2-1).
SL Benfica is the current holder of the trophy. In the final of the 2019/20 edition, the team under Filipa Patão beat SC Braga by 3-0 and took the first-ever League Cup in Women's Football to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião.
