Eagles with soul, our basketball players! The Sport Lisboa e Benfica basketball is to be congratulated for winning the first National Championship in its history.

It is an unprecedented and fully deserved achievement – the decisive win, today, away at União Sportiva – that should make all Benfiquistas proud, joining the glorious victory achieved, also this season, in the Portuguese Cup.

In such an atypical season, as we all know, these achievements by the women's basketball team are to be praised even more and I would like to congratulate all the athletes, the coaching staff and the sports structure.

In this special moment and taking into account the various achievements attained by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's women's teams in various sports, I would like to highlight that this is a successful bet and to reaffirm our commitment and contribution to the development of women's competitions in Portugal.
