Here is the first signing of 2021/22 for Sport Lisboa e Benfica's handball team! Alexis Borges, a 29-year-old pivot, is a Portuguese international, represented the French of Montpellier and arrives at the Club with the objective of "making history".

An eagles' signing until 2025, Alexis Borges returns to Portugal, where he played at FC Porto for six seasons. In addition to Montpellier, the pivot also played at Barcelona and at Villa Clara, the Cuban team where he began his career cubano.

"It is a great feeling. I had the pleasure of knowing how the Club works when I took the medical exams. I am sure that Benfica wants to build a great team. My feeling is to get here and try to make history for this club", he began by stating in his presentation at the Estádio da Luz.

More than 90 minutes: chasing a dream!

The women's football team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica is still fighting to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, even if the next opponent on matchday 5 of  grupo D is Lyon, leader of the European club rankings, this Thursday, December 9, at 8:00 pm at Benfica Campus.
