Last Monday dawn (in Portugal), the Women's Football National Team played the United States of America in Houston (current world champions) and lost 1-0, with a goal by Samantha Mewis, at 76'. Catarina Amado was able to be a starter for the first time, in her 2nd international appearance.

Sílvia Rebelo, Carole Costa and Kika Nazareth also started the match, while Andreia Faria substituted Tatiana Pinto. Lúcia Alves and Beatriz Cameirão still wait for their international debut.

On Sunday there is another clash, against Nigeria, also at the BBVA Compass Stadium, in Houston.
