The 2021/22 pre-season begins!

The 2021/22 pre-season of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's professional soccer squad started early this Friday at Benfica Campus. The first day of work is dedicated to physical tests.

Divided into groups, the following 19 players will visit the Benfica Campus throughout the day to undergo physical evaluations: Chiquinho, David Tavares, Ferro, Paulo Bernardo, Cervi, Gabriel, Grimaldo, Henrique Araújo, João Ferreira, Weigl, Svilar, Nuno Tavares, Samaris, Pizzi, Samuel Soares, Tiago Gouveia, Tomás Araújo, Krovinovic and Waldschmidt.

Respecting the health rules and procedures in place due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the athletes Helton Leite, Gilberto, Morato, and Vinícius, who were on vacation in Brazil, are in isolation at the Benfica Campus and will serve a 14-day quarantine.

Five players are in the medical department: André Almeida, Lucas Veríssimo, Diogo Gonçalves, Darwin, and Rodrigo Pinho.

The internationals Rafa (Portugal), Vertonghen (Belgium), Seferovic (Switzerland), Otamendi (Argentina), and Everton (Brazil) are with their respective national teams at the European Championship and Copa America.
