João Mário is Sport Lisboa e Benfica's new number 20. He penned a contract until 2026 and in the official presentation this Thursday he visited the Benfica Museum — Cosme Damião and Estádio da Luz.

Feeling at home

"I was very well received by everyone. They made me feel at home and I adapted quickly to the team and the Club. I already knew a little of what Benfica's facilities were like, but I am very surprised with Seixal, with the organization that exists around the Club and the first team. I would like to thank everyone for the way they received me."

At Luz with high expectations

"I feel confident. Expectations are always high at Benfica. We already have a first big goal which is to qualify for the Champions League and I'm sure that the team will be prepared. I also know how important it is for Benfica to win the championship again."

Special relationship with Jorge Jesus
