First official match at Estádio da Luz, first goal with the Sacred Mantle. nd how it was effusively celebrated, by João Mário and the thousands of Benfica fans in the stands of Estádio da Luz, the shot that paved the way for the second victory (2-0) over Spartak in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League!

"Our goal was to go through to the next round. We knew we had a lead [2-0] from the Moscow match, we managed this match very well and the team is to be congratulated because we qualified for the play-off", claimed the Portuguese international to BTV.

"It is always special in the first match with fans to score a goal and help the team. I would like to thank the fans who came here and those who support us for all this strength, which makes a difference for the team and it shows on the pitch", pointed out the eagles' number 20.
