With a bold display, the women's football team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica kicked off their participation in the Champions League group D with a scoreless draw against Bayern.

Benfica starts the group stage of the Women's Champions League with one point in group D. On matchday 2, the Reds play away at Lyon, on October 14.
