The return of SL Benfica's professional football team to competition after the international break takes place in the Portuguese Cup against Trofense at 8:15 pm on Saturday, October 16.

This set of encounters includes clashes in the Liga Bwin and in the Champions League, two competitions in which Benfica is well positioned – leader in the National Championship and 2nd place in group E of the UEFA competition –, and matches for the Portuguese Cup and League Cup, competitions in which the team its first appearance, but where it has clear and ambitious goals.

In total there are 11 games, but it could even be 12, if Benfica beats Trofense in the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup. On the agenda, the highlight is that seven of the 11 matches will be played away from home and the four matches to take place at Estádio da Luz will be against Bayern and Dynamo Kiyv (Champions) and SC Braga and Sporting (Liga Bwin).
