HIGHLIGHTS

Miguel Estefano Constantinescu, the 16-year-old winger (01.05.2005), signed a professional contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica. 

"I am very proud to sign my first professional contract with this great club. I have been at this club for many years and I want to stay here longer. It is an inexplicable feeling. It makes me want to work harder, to dedicate myself to make Benfica proud. The Club trusted me a lot and I want to repay that trust. The expectations of all players is to reach the professional squad", confessed the young footballer to BTV.

Miguel Constantinescu

An international with the U-17 Romania national team, Miguel Constantinescu has 13 matches and four goals in the U-17 National Championship this season (2021/22).

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
