Jéssica Silva, the 27-year-old Portuguese international forward, is a new signing of the women's football team of SL Benfica.

"This moment is very special for me! Everyone knows that I am a Benfiquista, and now a party is being held in Heaven, where my father and grandfather, Benfica members and Supporters, are surely happy and proud of meI am happy, proud to wear this jersey, and I will give everything for it. For all this, this moment is even more special", explained Jéssica Silva.

The 27-year-old player began her career at União Ferreirense, followed by stints with Clube de Albergaria and the Swedish te amof Linkopings FC.

She returned to Portugal, spent two seasons at Clube de Albergaria, one season at SC Braga, and then move to Spain to represent Levante. The good performances took her to France, where, with the Lyon jersey, she became European Champion. Last season, Jéssica Silva played in the United States of America, at Kansas City, and now she has transferred to Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

Any player, especially a Portuguese one, wants to represent a big team, and for me, I'm also a Benfica fan, so there is a will from both sides. I'm very happy to be here and let's do it! Benfica has an ambitious project, and I am ambitious; it has a super-competent structure and a sustained project in which I believe a lot."

Benfica had a good performance in the Champions League and the idea is to continue this work and be able to reach as far as possible. We will be up there in no time", stressed the forward.
