"This process is not difficult at all, and even less so in an initiative like this. As a Benfiquista and as President of Benfica, I am more than proud of this action that our Foundation is doing, and I think I can speak on behalf of all Benfiquistas. Within the difficulty that is a war that is happening, being able to contribute in some way and having the Benfica Foundation active is something that makes me proud", said Rui Costa to BTV.

The executive president of the Eagles Foundation also explained how all the logistics are handled from Estádio da Luz to the Ukrainian borders.

" All boxes are identified in three languages: Portuguese, Ukrainian, and English. Upon arrival at the Ukrainian border, the goods are delivered to a Ukrainian organization and are escorted into Ukraine by Ukrainian troops. One TIR truck has already left, and we believe that three or four more TIR trucks may leave, totaling 100 tons ", revealed Carlos Moia.

The president of Benfica's General Assembly, Fernando Seara, also wanted to help and participate in this initiative to support Ukraine and the Ukrainians

"These times we live in are times of generosity and solidarity. A supportive Benfica is required in this time of change and pain. Given all the circumstances that we witnessed in Ukraine, there is nothing like a supportive Benfica to give a sign of solidarity and generosity and, above all, fraternity. I congratulate Benfica, its Foundation. Glory to Ukraine, because we must help those who suffer", he claimed.

Luisão, technical and performance director of the reds' professional football team, volunteered for this humanitarian action and explained the reason why.

"It is very sad what is happening in Ukraine. Nothing better than to unite and help, that's what Benfica does and what all humanity must do. I'm seeing a lot of volunteers. It shows the importance of the cause. I had the opportunity to be in Kyiv and in Kharkiv, to see what a wonder the country is. I have a huge connection, knowing that it's all destroyed makes me very sad. We just have to ask God that everyone stays well," wished the former Benfica player and captain.
