Darwin, the Benfica striker, was starter in the match on March 24 against Peru and helped pave the way for Uruguay's qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. 

The top scorer of the Liga Bwin played in the attack alongside Luis Suárez and it was after one of his crosses, at 42', that the 1-0 was scored by Arrascaeta. Darwin made a cross on the left, Giménez strike hit the crossbar. The ball went to Arrascaeta's feet and he didn't miss. 

Valentino will not be in the World Cup. He was a used substitute in the play-off clash between Austria and Wales, in which the away team was beaten in Cardiff by 2-1. The Benfica athlete came on at 77'.
