The athletes of SL Benfica Teresa Portela and Fernando Pimenta became, this Sunday, March 27, Canoeing National Champions in the sprint event, while João Ribeiro is vice-champion. The competition took place in Mirandela and counted with almost a thousand athletes representing 50 clubs.

In the K1 Men’s event, Fernando Pimenta, 14-time National Champion, completed the race in 20:49,41 minutes, followed by João Ribeiro, with only 55 hundredths behind.

In the K1 Women’s event the victory was for Teresa Portela, with 23:26,11 minutes.
