Seven players from Sport Lisboa e Benfica were called up to represent the U-17 National Team for the European Championship that will take place in Israel, between May 16 and June 1. João Conceição, João Veloso, Rafael Luís, Ussumane Djaló, Gustavo Varela, Ivan Lima and João Regoare part of the 23-man squad announced by national coach José Lima, which will be reduced to 20 players on May 11.  

Portugal is in Group D with the national teams of Denmark, Scotland, and Sweden. The first match will take place on May 17. On the 20th the match will be against Sweden, ending the group stage against Denmark on the 23rd.

Aktürkoğlu scored the goal for the eagles, finishing off a brilliant play by Pavlidis. The title will be decided in the final round.
