The U-21 national team coach has named five Benfica players for the last three matches of the U-21 Euro 2023 qualifiers, against à Belarus, Liechtenstein and Greece.

The five Benfica players in the squad list are Samuel Soares, Rafael RodriguesPaulo Bernardo, Gonçalo Ramos and Henrique Araújo. Among the national coach' choices is also Tiago Dantas, an athlete linked to the Club, but who is on loan this season. 


Goalkeepers: Celton Biai (V. Guimarães), Samuel Soares (SL Benfica) and Gonçalo Tabuaço (CF Estrela);

Defenders: Alexandre Penetra (Famalicão), Eduardo Quaresma (Tondela), Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting), João Mário (FC Porto), Nuno Tavares (Arsenal), Tiago Djaló (Lille) and Rafael Rodrigues (SL Benfica);

Midfielders: Afonso Sousa (Belenenses SAD), André Almeida (V. Guimarães), Fábio Vieira (FC Porto), Fábio Carvalho (Fulham), José Carlos (Varzim), Paulo Bernardo (SL Benfica), Tiago Dantas (Tondela) and Vasco Sousa (FC Porto);

Forwards: Fábio Silva (Wolverhampton), David da Costa (RC Lens) Francisco Conceição (FC Porto), Gonçalo Ramos (SL Benfica), Gonçalo Borges (FC Porto), Henrique Araújo (SL Benfica), Pedro Neto (Wolverhampton) and Vítor Oliveira (SC Braga).
