Four CNID Awards for Benfica

Benfica athletes Darwin, Henrique Araújo, Carole Costa and the UEFA Youth League winning team are among this year's recipients of awards from CNID, the Association of Sports Journalists. This Monday, May 30th, the awards were delivered at Miguel Franco Theater in Leiria.

Darwin was elected by the associates of the organization as the Best Player of the Liga Bwin 2021/22, an award also given to Henrique Araújo, but this time referring to the Liga 2. The Uruguayan international was the top scorer in the top flight with 26 goals, while the U-21 Portuguese international scored 14 goals in the Liga 2.

Henrique Araújo, who scored three goals in the final against Salzburg, was part of the Benfica youth team that won the UEFA Youth League 2022, which shares the Team of the Year award with the National Futsal Team.

Carole Costa, the two-time national champion center-back for Benfica, won the Best Player award in the women’s football Liga BPI.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica was represented at the ceremony by vice-president Rui Passo and by the general director of Benfica Campus, Pedro Mil-Homens.
