Benfica players celebrate Diogo Gonçalves' stunner

Benfica secured on Tuesday, August 9, a place in the Champions League play-off. They beat Midtjylland by 1-3 in Denmark, in the 2nd leg of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. The Reds will now face Dynamo Kyiv on August 17 (in Poland) and on August 23 (8 pm, at Estádio da Luz).

In the absence of Neres, Roger Schmidt named Chiquinho in the starting lineup.  At the Randers Stadium started: Odysseas, Gilberto, Otamendi, Morato, Grimaldo, Florentino, Enzo, João Mário, Chiquinho, Rafa, and Gonçalo Ramos.

1-3 for Benfica (2-7 in aggregate over the two legs), which sealed a passport to the Champions League play-off, where they will face Dynamo Kyiv on August 17 in Poland. The second leg will take place at Estádio da Luz at 8 pm on August 23.

After securing this objective, Roger Schmidt's team turns its attention to the Liga Bwin. This Saturday, August 13, the Reds face Casa Pia at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, at 6:00 pm, on matchday 2 of the Liga Bwin.
