Roger Schmidt, the coach of the professional football team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, was distinguished with the Vítor Oliveira Award – Coach of the Month of the Liga Bwin 2022/23 in August.

In the first four matches of the League, played, in the case of Benfica, between August 5 and 30, the Reds recorded four wins against Arouca (4-0), Casa Pia (0-1), Boavista (0-3) and Paços de Ferreira (3-2).

Behind Roger Schmidt, in the other places of the podium, were Artur Jorge (SC Braga) and Paulo Sérgio (Portimonense), who received, respectively, 23.61% and 21.53% of the votes.
