It was in the penalty shootout that Benfica beat Caldas in the match of the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup.

Roger Schmidt
THE "MOST IMPORTANT" AND THE "RIGHT ATTITUDE"
"We are happy that we won. Against a Liga 3 club, we always expect to play smarter and win throughout the 90 minutes, but we have to accept it. Caldas played very well, and I respect their performance. They believed, in front of their fans. This was a Cup match. They say there are always special elements of the Cup, and we felt it today. It was complicated for us, especially in the first half. At the start of the second half, we were a little better, scored, and could have decided the match. We had a few chances, then they scored, and it became an open match. We went to penalties, but that's part of these matches. At the end of the day, in the Cup, the important thing is to win. Maybe we needed to feel this today, to feel that we were about to be eliminated, to have the right attitude in this competition."
CHANGE TO DECIDE
"It was a very tough match, in my opinion. I think we underestimated the situation in the first half. Caldas played well, defended well, and with a lot of patience. The goalkeeper is good, and they scored. We are not the first team to have difficulties in the first and second rounds of the competition. That's part of it, we have to accept it and we have to win. It's not a disappointment, but of course we have to play better in the next round. We must show we have learned our lesson. This is football, and I respect the opponent's performance. We didn't play great football, but it wasn't a lack of attitude. In the second half and in extra time we tried to decide the match, but we couldn't and ended up having to win on penalties."
EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES
"Everyone makes mistakes, but we have to see the global perspective. António [Silva] played very attentively, he played well. He miscalculated a situation and exposed the team to a counterattack [in the 1-1 play]. It is impossible to do everything without mistakes. I look at the 90 minutes, not just the mistake. António [Silva] is playing well and that is part of his development as a player. As I have already said, he is a humble player, works hard, and has a very positive attitude."
