Four-episode documentary about Benfica Campus is announced this Thursday by the award-winning studio.
27 October 2022, 11h00
Benfica Campus
This production, distributed to the United States and European and Asian markets in the coming weeks, provides unprecedented access to the Benfica Campus, the Club’s Training Center, which has been responsible in recent years for the development of world-class Portuguese and international stars.
Both current academy players and some of the most notorious eagles' academy graduates, including António Silva, Henrique Araújo, João Félix, Rúben Dias, Ederson, and João Cancelo, feature in the four episodes of the series "Factory of Dreams: Benfica", which incorporate a year of filming during the 2021/22 season.
As the young players seek to establish themselves in the first team of Portugal's most successful football club, viewers will have access to fascinating insights into the training methods that continue to make the academy a global success story. The documentary also reveals the ups and downs that these young talents experience as they make the transition to professional football, including the most recent newcomers from the academy Henrique Araújo and António Silva.
Anouk Mertens, NEO Studios’ Global CEO Global, stated: "We are excited to be able to work closely with Benfica to portray what makes the Club and Benfica Campus such a unique and special environment. The access they gave to our team is unparalleled, and I'm sure sports fans around the world will appreciate the more intimate stories that the documentary provides. Especially the how and why young players manage to triumph in this legendary European giant, but also the talent, dedication, and perseverance this requires."
For Domingos Soares de Oliveira, Benfica’s CEO: "The release of the documentary produced by NEO Studios, “Factory of Dreams”, on international platforms allows us to show and project the excellence of the work done at the Benfica Campus internationally. We have been recognized for this work within our industry and its dissemination to a much wider audience is extremely important."
