Globe Soccer Awards

Benfica won the "Best Youth Team of the Year" award at the 13th "Globe Soccer Awards" gala, held this Thursday, November 17, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Awarded "Best Academy of the Year" in 2015 and in 2019, the Club has received a new distinction at this event.

Present at the ceremony that took place at the Madinat Jumeirah and that brought together the elite of world football, the President of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Rui Costa, received the trophy that materializes a year full of success for the Club's youth football through the unprecedented victories in the UEFA Youth League (against Salzburg) and the Under-20 Intercontinental Cup (against Peñarol).

On the ceremony stage, with the award already in his possession, Rui Costa highlighted the fact that this is "another great generation of the Club".

"Thank you for this award! This is the third time [that Benfica is distinguished in the 'Globe Soccer Awards']. It is a great honor for us, for Benfica, to be here. It is another great generation of the Club, and of course it is special now because we won the UEFA Youth League and the Intercontinental Cup for the first time.", mentioned the President of Benfica.

For the third time the Club was awarded at the "Globe Soccer Awards" gala, as the Benfica Campus has directly recognized the quality of work, the development of talents and the training methodology reference in 2015 and 2019.

... for the practice of football and has the mission of hosting its professional team, o Benfica Campus is a sports development project for young football players of SL Benfica.

At Benfica Campus, the young players have access to the best sports development they can aspire to. The professionals who work at the Club are prepared to provide them with the growth and sports development they need to pursue their goal of becoming professional SL Benfica players. They will also have access to the best support in their academic and social lives, areas to which the Club gives great importance, in order to contribute to their training as Men and Citizens.

The Benfica Campus also transmits the Mystique and Values of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. One learns to have sporting ambition and total commitment to the Club, the team and the teammates. Humility is fostered in acts and behavior, as well as solidarity with everyone, learning a culture of respect, education, ethics, and fair play.
