The event served as a preparation for Benfica aiming for the European duel, in the round of 16 of the EHF European Cup, against the Turkish side Antalya Konyaalti BSK.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica's senior women's handball team won the 32nd edition of the KakyGaia Tournament, after beating the Under-19 National Team (31-29) in the final held this Friday, December 30, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The team coached by João Alexandre Florêncio won the four matches played in the competition, specifically against Alpendorada (37-22), the Under-19 National Team (28-29), Maiastars (39-14) and, in the final, again the Under-19 National Team (31-29).
The eagles, remember, have thus prepared the clash for the round of 16 of the EHF European Cup, where they will face Antalya Konyaalti BSK (Turkey) at the beginning of the year.
