The UEFA Refereeing Committee has appointed Italian referee Davide Massa to officiate the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 between Club Brugge and Benfica, at 8 pm on Wednesday, February 15, at the Jan Breydel Stadium, in Bruges (Belgium).

Filippo Meli and Stefano Alassio will be assistant referees and Daniele Chiffi the fourth official.

Paolo Valeri will be the VAR and Marco Di Bello will be the AVAR.

On Tuesday, August 5, Benfica finalized preparations for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Nice. In the morning, the team held a training session at Benfica Campus, which also hosted the preview press conferences with Bruno Lage and Schjelderup.  After that, they headed to Beja, where they got a warm welcome from hundreds of Benfica fans before hopping on a charter flight. Benfica is already in France (they landed tonight) in Nice, where the game is set for 8:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on Wednesday, August 6.
