This Tuesday, February 21, Carnival Day, Benfica's handball team hosts Kadetten Schaffhausen on matchday 9 of group A of the EHF European League.

Everything is open in group A when it comes to Benfica's aspirations. The reds are currently in 4th place, which gives access to the next stage, but moving up or down the league table are two possibilities in the last two rounds.

"We don't depend only on ourselves, but we certainly have to win both games to get the best possible result", explained Carlos Martins, in statements to BTV.

Tuesday, February 21, at 5:45 pm, the reds host the Swiss of Kadetten Schaffhausen...

"We played a good game in Switzerland, but unfortunately we lost with a seven-meter free throw in the last moment of the match", recalled the Benfica player.

"They are a very fast team, with a world-class player (Joan Cañellas) that will create many difficulties for us. We have our value, and we want to win", previewed Benfica's right-winger.

"Benfiquistas are important in every match. They mean two or three more goals in a match"

Chema Rodríguez shares his player's opinion and reinforces the need to win.

"[Kadetten Schaffhausen] It is a very complicated team that plays very well and has a lot of depth in the rotation. We have to win at home to secure the 4th place and not depend on third parties in the last match", claimed the Benfica coach.

"Benfiquistas are important in every match. They mean two or three more goals in a match. In the most difficult games, as this one will be, the support is very important for us", appealed Chema Rodríguez.
