Chiquinho: "Focus on Tuesday's match"

INTERVIEW TO BENFICA MEDIA

Determination and resilience is what Chiquinho shows after completing 100 matches in an eagle on his chest in the clássico, he who, in an interview to the Club's media, recognized the "good moment" that he and the team are going through, putting the total focus on the match against Inter Milan, this Tuesday, April 11, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League. 

100 MATCHES

"It is a feeling of great pride to be able to reach the milestone of 100 matches for Benfica. It is something that cannot be explained. Since I was a kid I had this dream, to get here, to represent this club, I am very happy, I hope there will be another 100, 200 or whatever. I will work hard for that to happen."

OFFICIAL DEBUT

"It was the first title of the season, we played against a rival [Super Cup against Sporting, in August 2019]. Furthermore, it was a match in which we clinched a 5-0 win, to score a goal was the icing on the cake. Winning the title and scoring a goal... it was an unforgettable day and one that I will undoubtedly take with me for the rest of my life."

CLÁSSICO

"The supporters created an amazing atmosphere, the match didn't go the way we want. We really wanted to bring joy to our fans with a great victory. Our focus now is on Tuesday [against Inter Milan in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals], we have a very important game. The team is focused on that match, and we are working well to get a win in front of our fans."

WORK HARD

"My focus is always the same. I try to do my best every day, I want to be a better player, to be a better person. I always worked the same way, even when I didn't play. The coach always looked at me as an important player, even when I played less. Now he has given me that opportunity, I think I have been in a good moment, both me and the team. Let's keep working, I'm going to keep working so that we can conquer our goals together."
