The defender Paige Almendariz is the most recent signing of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's women's football team.

A native of California, Paige Almendariz played at the UNLV Rebels college team (2016 to 2019) and the California Storm (2019) before her first experience in Portuguese football in 2020/21, a season in which she lined up for Länk Vilaverdense, at the time competing in the II Division.

In the next two seasons, 2021/22 and 2022/23, the left-back played at SC Braga, a side for which she played 32 matches and scored four goals.
