JÉSSICA SILVA'S GOALS

Jéssica Silva, Benfica's forward, stood out on the women's National Team's last friendly match in national territory before the 2023 World Cup.

A starter against Ukraine, the player scored both goals in the Portuguese victory (2-0), in the match that took place at Estádio do Bessa, on Friday, July 7.

Facing the 33rd ranked national team in the world (Portugal is 21st), Francisco Neto arranged the team in a 3x5x2 with five Benfica players in the starting eleven: Carole Costa, Ana Seiça, Andreia Norton, Lúcia Alves and Jéssica Silva. Patrícia Morais, Ana Borges, Joana Marchão, Dolores Silva, Andreia Jacinto and Diana Silva completed the starting lineup.

Portugal 

In the second half, Catarina Amado was the benfiquista who came off the bench, at 72' (she replaced Lúcia Alves). Rute Costa, Sílvia Rebelo and Francisca Nazareth were also called up for the competition that will take place in Australia and New Zealand between July 20 and August 20 but were not used in this match
