With huge pride, I pay tribute to our Athletics team, an exceptional batch of athletes who won the unprecedented 13th title in a row at the National Outdoor Track Championship.

Congratulations to all those who honored our crest and, with determination and class, deserved the highest place on the podium, in Viana do Castelo. Congratulations to the entire structure of our athletics for the way they created logistical conditions and knew how to build a true team spirit in another glorious weekend.

The 35th Athletics title for Sport Lisboa e Benfica has been won.

A sustained project with a very strong component of our youth development, which gives continuity to an impactful hegemony.

Congratulations on this achievement. The Benfica way, true Champions!

Benfica's professional football team held another training session on Saturday, April 26, at the Benfica Campus, with a view to the match against AVS, scheduled for Sunday, April 27, at the Estádio da Luz. The match from round 31 of the Liga Betclic is scheduled for 6 pm.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
