The first FIFA dates of the 2023/24 season are just around the corner, and the commitments of the national teams will put the calendars of the professional leagues on hold until mid-September. During this break from domestic competition, Benfica's squad will be missing 13 players.

Otamendi and Di María (Argentina), António Silva (Portugal), Aursnes (Norway), Trubin (Ukraine), Bah (Denmark), Kökcü (Turkey), Musa (Croatia), João Neves, Samuel Soares and Tomás Araújo (Portugal U-21), Morato (Brazil U-23) and Kokubo (Japan U-22) are the members of the group led by coach Roger Schmidt who have been called up to serve their respective countries and who will therefore be unable to attend the Benfica Campus in the coming days.

The Benfica team will resume competition on September 16, when they face Vizela in the north of the country at 8:30 pm, on matchday 5 of the Liga Betclic.
