Benfica's coach expressed his satisfaction "with the performance and attitude" of the eagles in their 1-2 win over Vizela on matchday 5 of the Liga Betclic.

Roger Schmidt
FAIR WIN, BUT SHORT
"We played a very good game. We were very good in possession and pressing, creative, well organized for counter-attacks, and we didn't give the opposition any chance. We created a lot of chances, but we only scored two goals, we could have scored a few more. 2-0 is always a dangerous result, because if the opponent scores a goal, like today, with the penalty, then it becomes difficult, because they believe. Sometimes football is like that. A situation, a cross, a penalty, and then you have to fight. After that, we had plenty of chances to score the third or fourth goal. If you don't score the decisive goal, you have to fight until the end. That was our task today. We showed a good mentality at the end, we deserved to win, but we could have done it more easily. I'm very happy with the performance and the attitude of the players. The only negative aspect was that we could have settled the game earlier, it would have helped. It's always difficult to play in Vizela, you have to respect the opponent, they fought for the point, but I think there's no doubt that it was a deserved victory."
MOMENTUM FOR THE GAMES TO COME
"Every victory is important, because it gives us confidence and belief that we can be prepared every three days. In the Portuguese league, we have to win almost every game to be champions, that's our goal. Especially when we play away, we see how difficult it is. Even when you play well, you're prepared, and you've got everything there, it can be difficult. It was very important for us, after losing our first league game, to win four games. It's important that the players are at their maximum level and focused. That's good, because the Champions League is about to start, and we have to be ready for it. The win and the way we played were very good. It gives us a lot of confidence. Before the international break we played well, and now the first game was great, so we're excited about the next few weeks."
TRUBIN'S DEBUT
"He's a very good goalkeeper, he has a lot of potential, and we're convinced by him, but when a player arrives so late in the season, it's always difficult to decide the best time to let him play. We've given him a few weeks to get used to his team-mates, gain confidence and get fit. My decision was to give the first games to Samu [Samuel Soares], who also did well, so I think we're in a great position in our goalkeeping options. For me, now was the right time to play him [Trubin]. There weren't many moments for him to appear, but he was very good in his presence with the ball. For Trubin, it was very important to play, because when you play, you're part of the team. It was a very good day for him, and we're happy."
