Champions League: first ever match at Estádio da Luz

Estádio da Luz will host the match between Benfica's women's football team and Eintracht Frankfurt, on matchday 3 of Group A of the Champions League, scheduled for 8 pm on December 13 para (Wednesday). It's the first time that the Cathedral has hosted a challenge from the Inspiradoras in this European women's club competition.

Three-time national champions, Filipa Patão's side are competing in the group stage of the competition for the third time in a row (fourth time in a row), joining the 16 best teams from the Old Continent.

In addition to Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica will face Barcelona and Rosengard, rivals they met last season, also in the group stage.

Benfica's participation begins on November 14, when they travel to Barcelona at 8 pm. On Matchday 2, the eagles host Rosengard at 8 pm on November 22, before hosting the Germans at the Estádio da Luz.

On matchday 4, Benfica will visit Eintracht Frankfurt (December 21, 5:45 pm), followed by Rosengard in the penultimate round, scheduled for January 25, 2024. On the 31st of the same month, the group stage concludes with the home game against the Catalan club, champions of Europe.
