Benfica-Braga

Aursnes and Arthur Cabral

Scorer of the goal that sealed Benfica's qualification for the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup, beating SC Braga 3-2 on Wednesday, January 10, in the last 16 of the competition, Fredrik Aursnes highlighted the good performance of the team.

"It was hard work in a match between two good teams. We managed to score the third goal, win the game and leave with a good feeling", claimed Aursnes to RTP and Sport TV, he then described it as "good" to have scored, not least because "I hadn't scored for a while."

AURSNES' GOAL

Also outstanding was Arthur Cabral, who eventually set up Aursnes for the goal that would prove decisive, as well as scoring a goal himself. Happy for his team-mate, the No 8 praised the Brazilian striker's display. "He was fantastic. His goal was fantastic. The way he turned around and scored... and then the way he assisted me. Unbelievable!" he praised.

The win against Braga meant passing another stage in the Portuguese Cup, a "very important" competition for the Eagles, as Aursnes emphasized: "We want to win the Portuguese Cup, of course. It was a tough game against a great team. We're strong, we're in a good moment, and we want to keep it that way."
