Several players from Benfica's first team squad competed for their respective national teams on Tuesday, March 26.

In the National Team's friendly match against Slovenia, in Ljubljana, where the hosts won by 2-0, António Silva came on at half-time, while João Neves came on in the 88th minute.

Kökcü came off the bench in the 61st minute in a friendly match for his Turkish side. In Vienna, Austria got the better of Turkey, winning 6-1.

Trubin was an unused substitute in Ukraine's 2-1 win over Iceland, in Wrocław, in the final of route B of the qualifying play-off for the 2024 European Championship. This result saw the Ukrainians qualify for the group stage of the competition, specifically Group E, where they will face Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

Tomás Araújo

The Portuguese Under-21s' 5-1 win over Croatia at the Estádio de São Luís, on matchday 7 of Group G of the qualifiers for the 2025 European Championship, was built with a strong contribution from Benfica.

As well Samuel Soares (90') and Tomás Araújo (90') starting, Benfica B players Rafael Rodrigues (78') and Pedro Santos (70') also started, as did Paulo Bernardo (78'), a midfielder on loan from Celtic.

Pedro Santos scored a hat-trick (1-0, 2-0 and 3-1) and Paulo Bernardo, who captained the Portuguese side, scored to make it 4-1, only to be replaced by Martim Neto, the eagles' midfielder on loan at Gil Vicente, in the 78th minute.

Álvaro Carreras

Representing Spain Under-21s, Álvaro Carreras played the full 90 minutes against Belgium, on matchday 6 in Group B of the 2025 European Championship qualifiers. The Spaniards won 1-0 in Almería.

André Gomes was a starting option for the National Under-20 team's friendly match against Denmark, along with Diogo Prioste (captain for 90 minutes) and Hugo Félix (68'), of the B team, and José Melro (68'), of the Benfica Under-23 team.

The Eagles' first-team goalkeeper was substituted at half-time, at which point Nuno Félix, from Benfica B, came on. The Danes won the match at the Estádio Nacional by 1-4.
