The memorable season of Benfica's women's football team had its final chapter on Sunday afternoon, May 19, when they won the Portuguese Cup, after beating Racing Power (4-1), with goals from Marie Alidou, Carole Costa, Lúcia Alves and Francisca Nazareth. It was the second time that the eagles had won the Portuguese Cup, having lifted the trophy in the inaugural season in 2018/19.

A week after celebrating the fourth league title in a row, against the same opponent, the Inspiradoras clinched the fourth trophy in 2023/24, after the Super Cup, League Cup and the Liga BPI, a feat that no other team has achieved since the League Cup was created in 2019/20. Historic!

Benfica-Racing Power

Standing on the bench, the substitutes longed for the game to end.  As soon as it was over, they all went onto the pitch and celebrated holding hands and bowing to the fans!
