Francisca Nazareth started the comeback

With goals from the Benfica players Francisca Nazareth e Andreia Norton, the national women's football team beat Northern Ireland 1-2 to qualify for the European Championship 2025 play-offs. At the same time, in this match on Matchday 4 of Group 3 of the B League, promotion to the A League also came closer.

On Tuesday, June 4, at Mourneview Park, Lúcia Alves, Carole Costa, Catarina Amado, Andreia Norton and Francisca Nazareth started against Northern Ireland, while Jéssica Silva came on in the 59th minute.

In a game in which Andreia Faria and Ana Seiça were unused substitutes, the result stood until the end.

With four wins in as many rounds, Portugal are in sole leaders, and will return to the competition on July 12 to face Bosnia and Herzegovina.
