Kökcü celebrates with Tosun
In the match played on Wednesday, June 26, the Benfica midfielder started the match on the bench, but was brought on in the 87th minute, and he provided the pass for Tosun to score in the 90th minute (1-2) at the Volksparkstadion.
This result confirmed Turkey's place in the round of 16, in 2nd place in the group, and eliminated Czechia from the next stage of the competition. David Jurásek, who has been on loan at Hoffenheim for the second half of 2023/24, started and was in action until the 81st minute. The Czechs finished in 4th place with one point.
In the same group, and already with minutes in the competition (they played against Turkey), António Silva and João Neves made their debuts in Portugal's starting eleven. Against Georgia, at the Gelsenkirchen Arena, Roberto Martínez made eight changes from the team that started the previous match, and the outcome was unfavorable for the Portuguese national team (2-0), who had already secured 1st place.
In the round of 16, on July 1 at 8 pm, Portugal will play Slovenia, while Turkey will face Austria on Tuesday, July 2 (8 pm).
In the afternoon, with Trubin playing the full 90 minutes, Ukraine drew with Belgium (0-0). This result, from Matchday 3 in Group E of the competition, combined with the 1-1 draw between Slovakia and Romania, meant that the Ukrainian team did not qualify for the last 16.
At the Stuttgart Arena, Benfica's goalkeeper made four saves, three of them on shots from their rivals inside the penalty area, according to data from the Sofascore platform. With four points from the three rounds, Ukraine finished 4th, level on points with the rest of their opponents.
