The center-back of Benfica António Silva was called up by the national coach Roberto Martínez for the first two games of the national team, in the Nations League group stage.

Portugal, in Group A1, will play Croatia on September 5 (Thursday) and Scotland on September 8 (Sunday), both games at the Estádio da Luz at 7:45 pm. Poland is also in the same group.

The top two teams qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.

In addition to António Silva, Barreiro (Luxembourg), Bah (Denmark), Otamendi (Argentina), Pavlidis (Greece) and Trubin (Ukraine), will be also on international duty.

Famalicão-Benfica

In the Under-21s, the benfiquistas André Gomes, Samuel Soares and Tomás Araújo are three of the 23 players selected by Rui Jorge for the next match in the qualifying phase for the 2025 European Championship. Portugal will play Croatia in Karlovac, at the Branko Cavlovic-Cavlek Stadium. The match takes place on September 10 (Tuesday) at 6 pm.

Also in the Under-21s, but from Spain, is Álvaro Carreras, and in the Under-21s from Albania is Adrian Bajrami.
