“I'm very happy to have helped the team win”

Benfica beat Pevidém 0-2 in the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup, in a game in which Beste scored both goals for the Eagles and was voted Man of the Match by the fans who voted via the Club's official website and app on Saturday, October 19.

Beste recognized the good response given by a lower-ranked opponent. In a quick interview with Sport TV, the left-winger analyzed the match. “Yes, Cup games are always different from League games. The pitch was very difficult, very soft, and our opponents also played very well. The early goal helped us a lot.”

Regarding the two goals with his signature, the left-winger revealed that it “felt good” to score. “I'm very happy to have helped the team win the game, that was the most important thing. I'm very happy that we won today,” said Beste.

Looking ahead to the Champions League match against Feyenoord in Luz on Wednesday, October 23, Beste stressed his ambition to keep winning.

"It will be a different game [from the 5-0 win in pre-season], against a difficult opponent. We want to maintain the energy we had before the break [for international matches], and we'll be playing at home, we want to win that game," he assured.
