Plenty of Benfica: congratulations, BPlay!

BPLAY – 5 YEARS

This Thursday, January 2, marks the 5th anniversary of BPlay. On the second day of 2020, Sport Lisboa e Benfica took another step towards being ever closer to its fans, presenting an exclusive content project about behind the scenes and stories from the Club's universe.

After five years, more than 200,000 users have registered on BPlay, with more than 100,000 hours spent viewing the available content (87.43% average complete viewing).

When we enter the Club's online and on demand platform, we immediately dive into a huge ocean of Benfica, with countless series that portray notable events and moments that are part of the Glorioso's history. And there's one that stands out as the most watched ever: Eu Amo o Benfica, the series that takes you on a journey behind the scenes of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's 38th national championship title, won in 2022/23. O Pacto, the final episode of Eu Amo o Benfica, is the record holder for views.

But there's more... much more! As well as Eu Amo O Benfica, there's plenty of other content to delight Benfica fans.

In Mística a Dois, in which a player from the professional football squad and a Glorioso legend talk about their eagle stories, they experience, in a very special way, what it's like to represent Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

Another example of BPlay's diversity of content, in the Road To series you can watch or re-watch the Eagles' football matches in the most diverse competitions. An opportunity to remember great goals, anthology plays and celebrations that made and make you shiver from head to toe.

OneShot, on the other hand, is more intimate content, in which the protagonists are sometimes “face to face” with the camera, sharing their emotions, dreams and ambitions. Whether it's interviews, recordings of milestones for the club, official presentations, or moments when relaxation reigns.

The affection that Benfiquistas have for those who were nurtured at Benfica Campus and took their first steps with an eagle on their chest is distinct, often familial. And one of the most watched BPlay series is precisely Seixal Não Falha. Here, names like Bernardo Silva, João Félix, João Cancelo, Ederson, Gonçalo Guedes and Nélson Semedo open their hearts and talk about their careers at Benfica, as well as their feelings for the club.

At the top of the most-watched series, and because a large part of the history of the Reds is made up of memorable European pages, Champions Cam takes a behind-the-scenes look at Benfica's campaign to the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 Champions League. The travels, the pre-match moments, the contact with the fans, the feelings in the dressing room and the reactions to the results - all these moments are portrayed and can be felt in the flesh.

On BPlay there's a whole Benfica universe to explore, with content from the Benfica Foundation, Women's Football, Youth Football, Indoor Sports, the Benfica Olympics... And on Só há um Benfica you can also learn about the Benficaism of cyclist Rúben Guerreiro, for example.

Outside the sphere of the Club, but always within the feeling of belonging to the "Manto Sagrado", presenter Cristina Ferreira is one of the protagonists in Bastidores, as well as UFC fighter Yorgan de Castro in Benfica no Mundo.

In other series, Honrar a História seeks to showcase memorable galas and events, as well as highlighting many of those who have etched their name in the Club's history.

On the other hand, Só Nós Sentimos Assim (Only We Feel This Way) has a more solidary nature, in which you can see or see again the human aspect inherent in an institution like Benfica, which says “present” when it comes to helping those who need it most.

Benficapédia, with a more didactic mission; On Campus, in which the Benfica Campus is the stage for the most varied types of reports, such as the one in which we recently saw Kökcü welcome his compatriot Aktürkoğlu; Formar à Benfica, which unveils a little of the veil of how work is done in youth football; Fun(ny), a format and a more relaxed version of the artists of the pitch and the courts; and Os Protagonistas, in which each episode highlights a specific figure who stood out at a particular moment or time. These are some of the other contents offered by BPlay.

At the same time, and with a view to perfect symbiosis, more and more content from the Club's other media is available on BPlay.

This castle of digital content has been built over the last five years, a period in which the Club has never stopped, even if the COVID-19 pandemic has brought the world to a standstill - and there are also daily records of content on the Benfica universe platform from those times.
