Kökcü transferred

Sport Lisboa e Benfica announces that, following the announcement made on July 12, the agreement with Besiktas, Turkey, for the transfer – loan with obligation to buy clause – of footballer Kökcü has been confirmed..

The terms of the deal were detailed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM): "The agreement includes a mandatory clause for the permanent transfer of the player's sporting rights, for the amount of €25,000,000 (twenty-five million euros) plus variable remuneration linked to objectives, bringing the total transfer value to €30,000,000 (thirty million euros). It is also noted that Besiktas will be entitled to retain the 5% solidarity mechanism for subsequent distribution to the clubs that participated in the player's training. Finally, it should be noted that Benfica SAD will not incur any intermediary service fees."

Coming from Dutch club Feyenoord, Kökcü competed in the last two seasons with red jersey. In total, he played 98 matches. In 2023/24, he played in 43 matches between the League (27), Champions League (5), Europa League (4), Portuguese Cup (4), League Cup (2), and Super Cup (1), a trophy he helped win.

On August 9, 2023, in his official debut for Benfica, the Turkish international provided the assist for the opening goal in the Eagles' victory in the "clássico", played at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro.

In 2024/25, Kökcü played in 55 matches: 33 in the Liga Betclic, 12 in the Champions League, 4 in the Club World Cup, 3 in the Portuguese Cup, and 3 in the League Cup, a trophy he lifted for Glorioso at the Estádio Municipal de Leiria.

The player completed around 6,939 minutes with the eagle on his chest that ended with 19 goals scored and 22 assists.
