Richard Ríos, midfielder of the Benfica, professional football team, is in the Colombian national team squad, which is preparing for the last two rounds of South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Fighting for qualification, the "cafeteros" face Bolivia in the 17th round at home at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla. The match is scheduled for 12:30 am continental time on Friday, September 5.

In the last round, Colombia travels to Maturín to face Venezuela at the Estadio Monumental in Maturín. The match will be played at 12:30 am on September 10 (Wednesday).

Cristina Prieto receives awards at Benfica Campus

Cristina Prieto received the awards for Best Player and Top Scorer in the 2024/25 Liga BPI at Benfica Campus, distinctions given at the end of the season and which have now been handed to the Spanish forward. The trophies were delivered by Sofia Teles (FPF) and Constança Macedo (BPI), celebrating a season of great distinction for the red striker. “It turned out to be a season that went very well for me. These awards reflect that, but without my teammates, they would not have been possible”, she said in statements to BTV. Her ambitions for 2025/26 are renewed and include “improving” individually and continuing to “win titles”. “We want more. We already have our first goal [Super Cup] and we are preparing for it”, she said.
